Leyland didn't have to say what he did, because now the press is blowing it out of proportion. If your work place hired someone younger and better than you, would you think of that as a threat to your job? Of course you would. Staying positive, all Inge has really stated is that he's going to work hard to win his spot, and he wants to be a Tiger for life. If he does keep his mouth shut and works hard, he will be. You're right, he should be lucky to have a place on the team, and he really needs to embrace a leadership role. Why? Because I'd like to see him coaching in West Michigan someday. It's not that far fetched. Illitch takes care of his boys (look at all the Wings alums who have cushy jobs), and Whitecaps fans love Inge (you see his jerseys all over), and Brandon has stated many times how much he enjoyed Grand Rapids. Inge can play his cards right, and he'll be taken care of. If he gets his feet wet coaching in his later 30's, he could have a solid career if he's successfull. You don't have to be a super star to be a good coach.<br />--Mike<br />'Minoring In Baseball'<br />http://burrilltalksbaseball.mlblogs.comMichael Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14147130414070154652noreply@blogger.com
